Our Story

A home, not just a shelter

Casa Hogar Alegre ("Joyful Home") is a loving orphanage nestled in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. Since 2010, they've provided a safe, nurturing family environment for children who need it most — offering meals, schooling, and unconditional love.

Our partnership connects Valley Christian High School families in San Jose, California with these incredible kids. Your monthly sponsorship directly funds food, clothing, school supplies, and medical care.

Mission Trips

Travel. Serve. Connect.

Valley Christian students are invited to join supervised mission trips to Casa Hogar Alegre in Chiapas. Volunteers help with light construction, activities, and meeting coffee farmers while building relationships with the children. Trips run during school breaks and require parental permission.

  • Who: VCHS students (grades 9–12) accompanied by chaperones.
  • What: Hands-on service, play, and business ideation.
  • When: Typical trips are around 10 days during school breaks; exact dates announced each year.
  • Cost & support: Fundraising guidance and limited scholarships available.
